Is America's time UP ??

About the time our original 13 states adopted their new constitution, in 1787, Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years prior:

"A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship."

"The average age of the worlds greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence

1. From bondage to spiritual faith;

2. From spiritual faith to great courage;

3. From courage to liberty;

4. From liberty to abundance;

5. From abundance to complacency;

6. From complacency to apathy;

7. From apathy to dependence;

8. From dependence back into bondage "

Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law, St. Paul, Minnesota, points out some interesting facts concerning the 2000 Presidential election

Population of counties won by: Gore: 127 million; Bush: 143 million;

Square miles of land won by: Gore: 580,000; Bush: 2,427,000

States won by: Gore: 19; Bush: 29

Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Gore: 13.2; Bush 2.1

Professor Olson adds: "In aggregate, the map of the territory Bush won was mostly the land owned by the tax-paying citizens of this great country.

Gore's territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements and living off government welfare . . ."

Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the "complacency and apathy" phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with some 40 percent of the nation's population already having reached the "governmental dependency" phase.

If the Senate grants Amnesty and citizenship to 20 million criminal invaders called illegals and they vote, then goodbye USA in less than 5 years.

Pass this along to help everyone realize just how much is at stake, knowing that apathy is the greatest danger to our freedom

Glenn Beck...

when i was in dallas last month while surfing the tele, i came across a primetime show on CNN called "Glenn Beck". As the israeli-hizballa war was going on, it was the target of this persons "musings", this guy is so so right wing that you cant even begin to try to counter him.. hes like we the western world are the best and the custodian of peace etc etc while the muslims are all that can be wrong.. come on man thats clowning..

since i am back in the timezone i watch this programme.. right now this guy is giving the "western world" a crsh course in understanding the muslim world.. hes trying to define the use of some arabic words in the context of current world and not in the context they were originaly coined.. like Takeyya , shariaa law, the concept of divorce in particular to show that the western world is better then the muslims and that the only way to handle the islamic radicals is to nuke em... man this guy has forgotten what is happening in his own backyard.. no mention is made about the plural marriage happening in utah..

this guy is like the right wings chaps in india, the hawks in BJP, RSS etc who share his views.. of course there reasons are different but the final destination is the same.. the only saving grace for us is that in india such people do not have open access media.. in US this is not the case and there in lies the problem, a guy like this with full access to the people on a prime time channel like CNN is bad.. very bad.. now more then ever i belive in the saying "God Bless America"

Toronto week one..

Week one in toronto has been ok.. the office work is yet to begin.. it should start next week in earnest I hope.

Me leaving the marriot for a service apartment in the downtown area, would not be cheap around 103 CAD per night but then the company is footing the bill so all well here.

Went to the eaton center today, man these Canadian sure know how to make the malls. . This mall in particular of 4 stories (including the basement) and has around 250 shops. People tell me that during the winter when the temp goes below -15C this the place where most Canadian head to in the Toronto area, after spending around 2 hrs to check each floor I headed out to the yonge street, this is along with the bloor street the direction setters of the downtown area. The place also has the world largest book store.

It’s a chapters and indigo store and man it was BIG.. found so many books that I have been looking to buying but ones which I could not locate in stores… spent about 2 hrs in the single section area only .. would be going there often to pass time. Post the book store it was back on the street.. I spied a Lebanese store selling you know “shawarma” its been like 2 yrs when I had this particular dish in Israel. Loved it again plan to visit this place..

During the week went to this Indian restaurant called “Indian Hut”.. the buffet was pretty cool though it cost me 20CAD tip inclusive.. the nan was pretty cool… better then what I have had in India..

Next weekend hopefully I am planning for a trip to Niagara.. plan to go there once again during the winter to see the difference if any.. and about the winter well its around the corner here in Canada. Starting September things should get cold… hopefully I can get my royal ass out of here before the real COLD begins.. nahi to lag gaye geeeee..

Toronto... Day one

wrote this before.. posting now...

So finally we are here. Hmm so far the place looks pretty good esp the hotel.
Only problem being that the great one is early, the check does not begin till 3PM and the jack ass who left the room left it late and so I wait here in the hotel lobby. Most of the folks here are here for the convention (read below) so I am wondering are they all infected he he .. There were some 5 odd middle eastern dudes taking in Arabic, these buggers keep looking at me as if I am sheik hasan nasaralla.. who by the way added a big feather in his cap with the beginning of the cease fire. Not only did he survive the onslaught but his fighters gave the Israelis a taste of there own medicine. hezballa is now going to have a major major say in the middle east political secne… that much is for sure.

I see people look at me and they must be wondering what this sardar is doing in this fundu place.. the bottom line here is that they do not know who they have just seen. This is there once in a life time opportunity to meet and see the “O mighty great one “

At the airport I saw and felt what is called as the “profiling” phenomena for the first time in 5 travels overseas. After I completed my immigration, this big dude stops me and begins to ask some very stupid ques.. like how much money I have, what I will do in Canada and the kind of I do.. I told him that I design billing and CRM soln and he yes ok that great like he understood anything. Then that jackass marked something on my slip and when I tried to exit the terminal I was told to go through this custom clearance.
Could not figure out what the hell was happening until saw most of my kind waiting for there at the inspection area? Then the reality struck me and I said so we Indians, esp the sardars are not trusted and trust me if we are not trusted in Canada esp Toronto then there is no bloody place where we can trusted.. We bloody practically run the country..

Anyways this dude walks in, he’s called “delta 2” by a fellow agent and that’s when I relaxed, figured that the famed “delta 2” has some extra ques for me. He did the scan of my baggage and told me to show all the USD I had.. I showed him that and in addition showed the TC receipts. The dude then got another brain wave, he asked me to open my suitcase. I said yo man here you go. And then this dude went through the sides of my suitcase expecting to find god knows what.Maybe gold biscuits or drugs... Anyways once he was satisfied he said I am done buddy you can go... And go I did.

Once outside in the air of Canada, I looked for a taxi walla, there was this one guy who came to me and said “you wanta a ride “ I said yo and he said where to. I gave him the hotel name and he said you here for the AIDS convention.. I said no way man.. And he said “AIDS is everywhere” and I said I don’t have IT…

The limo chap (yes I hired a limo to announce the grand coming of the great one) was a rasta kind a guy, would not stop yapping about in the car. Gave me a good idea where I was heading, told me that there was a AIDS convention at my hotel and he figured I was the Indian representative.. Now that’s a god one.. Here is a guy waiting for some action only to be labeled as a veteran  that too with post war syndrome he he

9/11

today is the 5th anniversary of 9/11.. looking at the tele today it seems like it happened yesterday.. all the US channels are full of 9/11 stories, of the attackers, of the memorials, of survivor stories etc etc.. of all the things the ppl of US havet acknowledged the fact that this was something that was in the comming... when america plays the "International Whore", sleeping with anyone who serves her short term purpose , you do offend some ppl.. in this case osama.. i am not saying that what happened on 9/11 is just.. inocent blood no matter how worthy the cause can never be justified period.
Bush is busy beating the same old drum that america is not safe.... hell if we had him as the indian leader we would have wiped out pakistan, sri lanka and our other nations in our local area.. indians have lived in terror for the last 20 odd years at the least.. be it in punjab, kashmir and other places, yet we never hear that we are not safe.. that every one who is remotely looking like a muslim is a terrorist.. is it that we are too easy going or is that we understand that the action of few can never be used to judge the whole community...

anyways the longer bush and DC stay in power, the more difficult it will be the american ppl to move on.. these ppl will continue to use this event to meet there political ambitions.. you should hear DC speak.. its as if all ppl who dont share ur his view of the "war on terror" are enemies of the state.. thats is BULL SHIT
